CAD Designer/Drafter

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter to join our Public Infrastructure team in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our team is highly experienced and dynamic, dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
• Identify applicable codes, standards, or other design requirements.
• Utilize computer-aided drafting, design software, and various other computer software packages to assist in the preparation of construction design plans of varying complexity, exhibits, and studies.
• Transfer information in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format from engineering markups and computer files to construction drawings and other exhibits.
• Prepare grading design plans.
• Prepare plan and profiles for roadways, drainage infrastructure, and utilities.
• Review and understand jurisdictional code requirements and proper implementation.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Coordinate with team members, other disciplines, and support services.
• Coordinate and prioritize tasks to facilitate project schedule and quality standards.
• Work with a team in the preparation of cost estimates.
• Apply Westwood CAD standards, practices, and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of industry-specific public infrastructure design experience.

Skills

• Proficient in Autodesk Civil3D.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities.
• Basic engineering knowledge and understanding of public infrastructure design elements.
• Basic understanding of local and agency standards and codes.
• Maintain organized CAD drawings and draft with precision.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
