CAD/BIM Detailer

About the role

Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking a CAD/BIM Detailer (Tampa, Florida) for a well-established electrical contractor specializing in commercial construction. This position will support project teams by developing accurate electrical drawings, layouts, and installation details used for coordination, prefabrication, and field installation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed electrical drawings and BIM models for commercial construction projects.
• Create coordinated layouts for electrical systems, including conduit, cable tray, equipment, lighting, and other electrical components.
• Use Trimble software and technology to support electrical detailing, layout, coordination, and field installation.
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate installation drawings.
• Coordinate electrical systems with other trades to identify and resolve clashes before field installation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field teams to ensure drawings reflect constructability and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous CAD/BIM detailing experience with an electrical contractor strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting commercial electrical construction projects.
• Previous experience with Trimble software/technology required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit; Navisworks experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, and field installation practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project management, BIM/VDC, and field personnel.
