Cable Technician

Contract position based in Rock Hill, SC.

About the role

Teams will be building out infrastructure, including:

• Pulling cable and fiber
• Learning color codes
• Punching down and terminating fiber
• Installing cable trays and pathways
• Building server racks
• Dropping cable down walls using fish tape or other methods
• Routing cable through data centers
• Performing pre-termination procedures: organizing, forming, dressing cables, and determining length, slack, and labeling
• Suspending and supporting cable correctly using cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, bridal rings, and trapeze
• Installing grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required
• Performing fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, installing sleeves, and pulling cable through sleeves and core penetrations
• Terminating low-voltage devices
• Following prints
• Completing all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and others as required)
• Adhering to and participating in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Cable and fiber installation experience
• Knowledge of cabling, cable installation, and termination

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
