About the Role

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Cabinkeeper for the Postcard Cabins The Thumb Outpost in Columbiaville, MI. The role involves cleaning and preparing cabins and public areas to established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues. Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean assigned cabins (and cabin patios), including wiping and cleaning windows, doors, walls, closets, floors, bathrooms, appliances, and fixtures.
• Clean public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to reach high or difficult areas, maintaining a clean, presentable, and attractive facility.
• Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls (if applicable), wipe exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and walls to ensure sanitary guest and public restrooms.
• Replace linen, toiletries, and collateral in each cabin.
• Wash all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas.
• Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights/lamps, faucets, radios) to ensure proper working order and report any deficiencies in writing to the direct supervisor for prompt repair.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

• High School diploma, secondary qualification, or equivalent.
• Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or similar cleaning standards.
• Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
• Vision ability to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas and read written instructions and computer print-outs.

Skills & Physical Demands

• Upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs. continually throughout a 5-hour shift.
• Finger, hand, and upper body dexterity to push, pull, and move levers, equipment, and furniture throughout a 5-hour shift.
• Ability to work with arms raised above head throughout a 5-hour shift.
• Ability to carry a fully loaded cleaning bag (up to 50 lbs.) into/out of vehicles and cabins during the entire workday.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and employees.
• Reading and writing abilities for completing paperwork, logging issues, complaints, requests, and updates.
• Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays.

Materials & Equipment Used

• Basic residential cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers, carpet cleaning equipment).
• Cleaning kits, ladders/stepping stools.
• Commercial washers, dryers, and pressers.
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals on a continual basis.

Prolonged strenuous physical activity in an indoor climate-controlled environment, with excessive heat and humidity in laundry areas.
