About the role

The Cabinetry Design Senior Specialist plays a crucial role in transforming customer visions into reality. They lead cabinetry and home renovation projects from concept to completion, using 2020 Design Live or similar software to develop layout plans, renderings, and product recommendations. This role requires a strong foundation in cabinetry, bath, and kitchen design, as well as technical proficiency in 2020 Design software.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Design Process: Lead cabinetry and home renovation projects from concept to completion. Use 2020 Design Live or similar software to develop layout plans, renderings, and product recommendations based on customer inputs, measurements, and needs.
  • Be the Technical Expert: Educate customers on cabinetry construction types, materials, finishes, and specialty features.
  • Deliver Personalized Consultations: Meet customers in various settings (in-store, virtual, or in-home) to listen deeply, learn their style and renovation goals, and recommend functional, beautiful solutions tailored to their timeline and budget.
  • Connect the Dots from Start to Finish: Develop floor plans, mood boards, 3D visuals, and complete product packages. Manage each project’s full lifecycle, from early design to final purchase, and offer support through post-order services to ensure a smooth renovation experience.
  • Educate and Inspire: Stay updated on design trends and new materials, helping customers envision how different products can work together to create their dream space.
  • Leverage Design Sales Tools: Use analytics and digital tools to build persuasive space plans, presentations, and shopping experiences that drive business growth.
  • Thrive in a Dynamic Environment: Adapt to evolving customer needs, product assortments, and promotions, maintaining focus and flexibility to deliver impactful experiences.
  • Always Be Selling (ABS): Generate new leads, build rapport, and close personalized solutions that grow the pipeline and enhance store performance.
  • Contribute to Store Success: Support visual updates, floor sets, and inventory tasks as needed, and share your ideas to contribute to the team's success.
  • Operate as "One Team": Cross-train across key store functions, including sales and back-of-house operations, and be ready to support customers, teammates, and store needs during peak business periods.

Requirements

  • Design Experience: 3 years of experience in kitchen, bath, cabinetry, or home renovation design. Experience in cabinetry is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Confidence in using 2020 Design software. Familiarity with CRM/POS systems (like Salesforce) is helpful.
  • Sales Know-How: Track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals, with a proven ability to build trust and sell big ideas and beautiful designs.
  • Flexible Schedule: Ready to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field is preferred, but relevant experience and design sensibility are highly valued.
  • Leadership Training: Mentoring or training others in a retail or design setting is beneficial.
  • Professional Certification: NKBA, NAHB, NARI, or KBDI certifications are advantageous.
  • End-to-End Product Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of cabinetry, tile, and other home renovation products.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Thrives in a team-focused environment and takes pride in supporting both customers and peers.
  • Top-Notch Organization: Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Physical Activity: Frequent standing, walking, reaching, frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, requiring proper assistance or equipment.
  • Vision Requirements: Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Temperature Flexibility: Comfortable in varying temperature conditions.
  • Noise Tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.
  • Safety Awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards, adhering to all safety protocols.

Pay

Hourly Base Pay: USD 24.00 - USD 25.50. The range may vary depending on location, shift, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Schedule

Hours are typically retail hours, meaning nights, weekends, and holidays are common. Flexible scheduling is required.
