Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, including cutaway and detail views.
• Operate machines such as drill presses, shears, table saw, planer, joiner, mixing scales, and measuring tools like scales and calipers.
• Identify various types of honeycomb and composite thicknesses.
• Use hands and power tools to shape and smooth honeycomb and blend seams.
• Operate equipment to cut parts with straight, angle, and miter cuts.
• Read and understand decimal scales, and use scales, protractors, and calipers.
• Understand and locate revision levels on drawings, specifications, and materials.
• Maintain documentation such as work orders and parts tags.
• Layout cut lines, bend lines, and hole locations for inserts in honeycomb panels.
• Experience in proper drilling (correct hole sizes), countersinking, and installation of various rivets and hardware fasteners.
• Knowledge and experience in potting inserts, pinning honeycomb, and mortise and tenon techniques.
• Train other technicians on the correct use of tools and processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of related manufacturing and/or installation experience, or minimum two years of related aerospace manufacturing and/or installation experience.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Extensive toolbox and experience with proper use of air drills, rivet guns, routers, Cleco pliers, Clecos, microstop countersinks, rivet squeezers, and pencil grinders.
• Self-sufficient individual contributor requiring little to no supervisor input to complete assigned tasks.
• Experience in the role at Knight Aerospace, considered an expert in the position.

Work Environment

Full-Time Position in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
