About the role

This position is responsible for assembling cabinets and related components, safely operating CNC and finishing equipment, and supporting efficient shop practices that promote quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, comfortable reading drawings and technical documents, and able to work collaboratively with coworkers to produce high-quality products. This role requires practical problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to remain active throughout much of the workday while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient production environment. This is an on-site, full-time, day-only position in our growing exhibit production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinets and related components using wood, wood products, plastics, glass and hardware
  • Safely operate the CNC router, including material selection, program review, quality checks and routine maintenance checks
  • Maintain an efficient workflow to optimize material use and reduce tool changeovers
  • Maintain a clean working environment to support high quality finishes and a healthy workplace
  • Maintain high quality standards and participate in process improvement projects
  • Develop shop practices that minimize material movement and unnecessary handling
  • Safely operate paint guns and finish booth to product quality clear and opaque finishes

Requirements

  • Trade certificate in Carpentry, Cabinetmaking or shop-related trade preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in cabinet assembly or custom millwork environment
  • 1+ years experience in spray-applied finishes

Skills

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, drawings and technical documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact and exchange information accurately with shop floor and office coworkers
  • Capability to stand in an active position 75% of the workday
  • Ability to use higher math skills, solve practical problems, propose solutions, and test options

Pay

Starting salary: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience. Paid weekly.

Schedule

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday
