Essential Responsibilities
- Welcoming, settling, and safety of campers for each session
- Ensuring campers are aware of personal cleanliness, appropriately dressed for the weather, and taking precautions in dealing with sun and insect protection
- Taking an example of and encouraging respect at all times
- Note-taking of all announcements
- Aiding in teaching activities as needed
- Sure that each camper is getting proper rest and encouraging a rest time for tired campers
- Encouraging promptness throughout the day, including lights-out time
- Leading the cabin group on dining hall procedures, cabin cleanliness, meal cookouts, overnight camp outs, group activities, and nightly devotions
- Serving as spotters at lakefront as needed
- Planning activities for the cabin group on rainy days unless otherwise programmed
- Checking out cabin group on each camp closing day
- Sanitizing showers and bathrooms daily, sanitizing dorm area after each session, ensuring safe storage of all cleaning supplies
- Completing appropriate daily reports each day, sharing with the Program Director or local leaders, any concerns for follow-up after camp
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Previous experience working with children preferred
