About the role
The Production Supervisor Training Coordinator oversees and trains Process Technicians, focusing on new hires in the Employee Training Program. This role also involves managing equipment and safety inspections, updating SOPs, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Safely supervise and direct Process Technicians, especially new hires.
- Manage routine equipment and safety inspections.
- Maintain an adequate supply of materials and manage inventory inspections.
- Develop, implement, and conduct employee training programs related to equipment operations.
- Review and document changes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Operating Manuals (SOM).
- Train shift personnel on changes in procedures and work instructions.
- Aid in plant shutdown, start-up, and turnaround planning.
- Evaluate, mentor, develop, coach, and provide feedback to Process Technicians.
- Ensure all Process Technicians are current on certifications and track their progress in the CA Employee Training Module.
- Qualify process technicians in plant areas through verbal competency tests.
- Manage and update Employee Training Modules/Programs and continually improve the training.
- Document and investigate violations of company policy, standard operating procedures, and work practices.
- Comply with all safety procedures.
- Assist with unit start-up while training technicians on best practices.
- Complete operation training reports as needed.
- Participate in PHA/PSM audits as needed.
- Write, edit, review, certify, and manage production documents.
- Develop specialized training on various topics as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing or related military experience.
- An accredited Associate's degree in Chemical Process or Chemical Technology or Chemical Process Certificate in lieu of experience.
- Full CA Operator certification.
- Preferred: 5 years of CA operations; step-up supervisor experience; prior supervising experience; background in scheduling and planning.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to access all plant areas, use of PPE required in specific areas, regular bending, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and emergency response team participation (optional).
