Roles And Responsibilities
- Support the Tactical Networks (TACNET) capability at MCTSSA at Camp Pendleton supporting the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) worldwide.
- Provide remote and onsite guidance to assist FMF to create, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain large and small-scale tactical networks.
- Utilize COTS, GOTS, and POR hardware and software such as COC, CDN, and CHE to create, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain large and small-scale tactical networks.
- Interface with FMF personnel and US Government employees to provide break/fix support to USMC tactical networks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Research questions using available information resources: technical manuals, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s).
- Elevate situations requiring urgent attention.
- Set-up, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the CDN, CHE, and legacy COC variants (III and IV).
- Integrate data-sharing networks with storage, virtualization capabilities, and C4I systems support.
- Tactical networking support to configure VLANs, VTP, port channels, router-on-a-stick, layer 3 switches, PTP links, EIGRP, OSPF, route filters, GRE and MGRE tunnels, IPSec, VRF, Black Core/Colorless routing, multicast, access lists, and TACLANEs.
Education
- Certification listed above accepted in lieu of higher education.
- Experience equal to degree level.
Preferred Skills
- Self starter, with great initiative.
- Team player and an effective communicator of highly technical information.
- Familiar with ANW2 and MUOS networks.
- Integrating classified networks into network architecture through the use of TACLANEs.
- Microsoft domain replication, domain trusts, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Windows Deployment Service (WDS), SharePoint, Windows Firewalls, LDAP, SCCM/MECM, Bluecoat Proxy Server, PKI, and FSMO Roles.
- Cisco routing and switching, Unity Connection (CUC), IM & Presence Service (CIMP), CUCM, UCS-E, VMWARE ESXi, VCSA, VSAN, virtual switching, vMotion, EVC, HA, DRS, and VM templates.
- Administration and troubleshooting of NetApp filer storage, Openfire chat server, C2 applications, Fortigate Firewalls, and Radio over IP communications.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain or possess a valid US Passport and be physically qualified to support military exercises and contingency operations.
- Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
- Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.
- Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
- Willing to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.
