Roles and Responsibilities
- Enable warfighters of the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) to setup, configure, troubleshoot, and operate the AFATDS/THSv2.
- Sustain and operate AFATDS/THSv2 in CONUS and OCONUS regions.
- Support Tactical C5ISR systems in combat operations and advise on missions.
- Deploy, configure, sustain, and troubleshoot AFATDS/THSv2.
- Integrate AFATDS with fire support systems and tactical C5ISR networks.
- Support mission support phases, including system software loads, map/data updates, and hardware diagnostics.
- Work with JADOCS and other Marine Corps tactical fire systems.
- Familiarize with laser rangefinders, designators, FMV receivers, and USMC tactical radios/networks.
Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS)
- Deep working knowledge of setup, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AFATDS.
- Hands-on experience integrating AFATDS with fire support systems and tactical C5ISR networks.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps targeting/fire-support policies and procedures governing AFATDS use.
- Proficiency in mission support phases, including system software loads, map/data updates, and hardware diagnostics.
- Experience with Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS).
- Familiarity with laser rangefinders, designators, and full-motion video receivers.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps targeting and fire support policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps radios and networks.
Certification Requirements
- CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
Requirements
- Active DOD Sponsored Security Clearance (required).
- CCENT/CCNA or equivalent network training/certification (preferred).
- Significant hands-on experience with AFATDS, including setup, operation, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge and experience with THSv2, including configuration and sustainment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver end-user training and write technical documentation.
- Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
- Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
- Experience writing technical solutions and commercial knowledgebase articles.
- Intermediate analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
- Experience supporting Marine Corps C4I systems and equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in military training and education.
- Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.
- Willingness to work in a 24x7x365 secured environment, demonstrate intuitive problem-solving skills, and allow for flexible scheduling.
