About the Role

Makai is seeking a Project Manager with significant Scrum Master experience to lead efforts directly associated with the Air Force (AF) C3BM (Command and Control, Battle Management) PEO Director of Engineering. This role involves oversight for the architecture, design, analysis, and implementation of digital twin models for AF networks and systems, support for the identification and integration of emerging technologies, and support of a newly designed and approved NetWorthiness process.

The Scrum Master/Project Manager will work closely with AF senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop, document, and implement process/task management procedures. This position supports the end-to-end management of programs and projects for Air Force communications systems, ensuring objectives are met and deliveries are completed on time.

Responsibilities

  • Directly report to senior AF leaders within the AFRL and PEO C3BM organizations
  • Communicate project and program status to stakeholders and leadership through written and verbal communication
  • Continuously improve program risk management processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, subject matter experts, and mission operators, to gather insights on newly developed technologies
  • Assist stakeholders with transforming analysis into communications acquisition action plans
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews
  • Champion Agile principles while aligning with business objectives and timelines
  • Report on project scope, resources, schedules, risks, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery
  • Track and report performance indicators to provide transparency on team progress and project health
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Solve problems using strong analytical skills

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a related technical field
  • 5–7 years of experience
  • Detailed-oriented project manager with meticulous Scrum management skills
  • Ability to excel in multiple environments and handle high-pressure situations
  • Analytical problem-solving experience
  • Advanced professional leadership skills
  • Secret security clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI
  • Must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork and fosters cooperation
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels
  • Must interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Working Conditions

  • Work will be performed inside a large facility, potentially in a cubicle environment (close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting)
  • Work assignments vary based on client requirements
  • Sitting at a desk, using phone, PC, or laptop; filing may be required
  • May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs
  • Extended periods of sitting while using PC/laptop or phone
  • General office equipment use (telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory
  • May be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work
  • No regular travel, but ad-hoc travel may be required
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications
  • Grooming and dress usually business casual, dependent on client’s standards

Pay

Estimated compensation: $140,000 – $155,000. Individual salaries are determined by experience, skills, education, industry, location, company size, and market demand.
