About the Role
The Faculty Support Graduate Assistant (GA) will work collaboratively with faculty to support teaching, scholarship, and program initiatives within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Responsibilities may include serving as a teaching assistant, developing instructional and program resources, supporting student engagement, assisting with event planning, participating in research-related activities, and completing other duties as assigned.
This is a full-time (20 hours per week) position for the Fall 2026 semester, located at Marshall University South Charleston (MUGC).
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty with supervising laboratories under their supervision.
- Grade quizzes, homework, and other projects.
- Support teaching, scholarship, and program initiatives within the department.
- Serve as a teaching assistant and develop instructional and program resources.
- Support student engagement and assist with event planning.
- Participate in research-related activities.
- Complete other course and research-related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to Marshall University and the College of Education and Professional Development’s professional expectations, FERPA requirements, confidentiality expectations, and communication practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Earned master’s degree in education or a related field.
- Admission to and continued enrollment in the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) or Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) major in Curriculum and Instruction.
- Basic proficiency with computer applications and educational technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed coursework or professional interests related to teaching, learning, assessment, or research.
- Experience teaching in an education setting.
