C.E.A. Level B - Assistant Deputy Chief - Enforcement
About the role
The Assistant Deputy Chief - Enforcement (CEA) serves as the primary policy development advisor and provides high-level expertise and assistance to the Deputy Chief with the implementation of critical initiatives, policies, goals, objectives, and procedures to improve the efficiency of the enforcement program.
Responsibilities
- Shares responsibilities in managing the operations of the branch and serves as a member of the Deputy Chief's executive staff.
- Provides significant input on the development of branch policies and assists the Deputy Chief in advising the Chief of Cal/OSHA with respect to policy and operations of the Enforcement program.

- Knowledge of the organization and functions of California State Government including the organization and practices of the Legislature and the Executive Branch;
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of multidisciplinary professional and administrative staff;
- Analyze administrative policies, organization, procedures and practices;
- Integrate the activities of a diverse program to attain common goals;
- Gain the confidence and support of top level administrators and advise them on a wide range of administrative matters;
- Develop cooperative working relationships with representatives of all levels of government, the public, and the Legislature and Executive branches;
- Analyze complex problems and recommend effective courses of action;
- Prepare and review reports;

Salary Range: $12,131 - $14,453 per month.

Department Information
Incumbents shall typically receive a salary rate within the approved CEA level. Newly appointed CEAs receive the minimum of the range or may receive five percent (5%) above their current salary rate.
Special Requirements
