About the role
The C-12 / King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on Army C-12/ King Air 200/350/1900 aircraft. (Level of Aircraft Mechanic hire is based on years of specific C-12/King Air hands-on A&P mechanic experience).
Responsibilities
- Servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
- Performing tasks on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
- Using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
- Complying with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.
- Recording aircraft discrepancies in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
- Understanding and utilizing computerized maintenance software.
- Performing aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
- Engaging in engine run or taxi operations.
- Maintaining certification within 12 months of employment.
- Interpreting manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications.
- Performing other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate.
- Union CBA Site offers 3 levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on years of specific hands-on experience on the assigned aircraft MDS (Army C-12/King Air B200/350/1900).
- US Citizenship for obtaining US Govt Secret Clearance and facility/base access.
- Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
- A valid Driver's License.
- Providing own Mechanic tools and toolbox, tools to be etched with mechanic PID, and toolbox shadowed for each tool.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and pass/clear the (AR-95-20) Pre-employment Medical.
- Willingness and ability to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA.
- Current work shift at Holloman is day shift (0600 – 1430, 40 hours a week, M-F).
Qualifications
- Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
- Standing, squatting, sitting, walking, working with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
- Pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Schedule
Current work shift at Holloman is day shift (0600 – 1430, 40 hours a week, M-F).
Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization.
- US Citizenship is Required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.
