Byron K. Trippet Assistant Professor of History

About the role

Full-time tenure-track position in Medieval history at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2027. A Ph.D. in History or a related field is required by the start date. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach three courses per semester, including introductory world history courses, all-college courses, and advanced courses in non-Atlantic regional history (e.g., Middle East, North Africa, or other related regions).
• Extend the department’s coverage of medieval and non-Atlantic history.
• Expand the range of topics offered in advanced courses and seminars for majors and minors.

• Ph.D. in History or a related field by July 1, 2027.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach introductory world history, all-college courses, and advanced non-Atlantic regional history.
