Bypass Laborer

About the Role

SAK Construction is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Bypass Laborer to join our Bypass Operations Team in San Antonio, TX. This position assists with the setup, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of bypass systems while ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and with the highest regard for teammates, customers, property owners, and the public. The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter who communicates effectively and represents SAK Construction professionally.

Responsibilities

• Arrive at location (shop/job site) as directed by foreman/crew lead the day before.
• Follow direction without hesitation; ask questions if instructions are unclear.
• Adhere to a demanding schedule, which may include 7-day workweeks, day, night, or swing shifts.
• Availability to travel is required (typically 3 weeks at a time, though shorter durations may occur based on schedule needs).

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pull a small trailer.
• Reach lift experience.
• Positive attitude.
• Poly pipe fusion experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL.
• Confined space certification.
• Pipe fabrication/bolt-up experience.
• Bypass monitoring experience.
• Mechanical experience with engines and/or water pumps.

Punctuality is critical due to tight schedules, especially on smaller jobs.
