Buyer - Quantum Hardware, Quantum Communications and Networking

About the role

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire a Buyer with experience in fast paced research and development procurement.

Responsibilities

• Define a vision for a technical and business opportunity and execute on that vision.
• Procure heavy machinery, lab supplies, testing equipment, capital assets, chemicals, scientific equipment, and vacuum systems.
• Create RFPs/RFIs, negotiate contracts, create purchase orders, manage BPOs, and handle other expenses.
• Create and manage NDAs.
• Work closely with development and engineering teams to develop programs.
• Communicate with multiple stakeholders including internal teams like finance, import/export teams, and legal.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Improve processes and improve scalability.

Requirements

• Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration, or operations.
• Experience with procurement systems and financial applications.
• Experience with metrics creation and data presentation.
• Hands-on experience with process, technology, or operations improvement projects or initiatives.
