Buyer, Procurement
Job Summary
Maintains procurement activities and processes through approved vendors while ensuring high quality and low costs in a cGMP environment. Manages inventory levels and vendor relations to ensure continuous supply of required materials.
Area of Responsibility
- Initiate, follow-up, receive, and close Purchase Orders
- Resolve invoice issues related to assigned buying group
- Manage inventory levels and inventory flows using ERP (SAP), Excel, and analytical tools
- Plan materials inventory levels and update inventory specifications through QMS, Change Control, and CAPA systems
- Manage vendor and supplier relations for pricing, cost negotiations, purchase order deliveries, invoicing, complaints, non-conforming material, and Service Agreements
- Maintain cost savings to meet Global Procurement targets
- Manage vendor assessment program, file complaints, and lead investigations for incoming and non-conforming raw materials

Education and Job Qualification
- Minimum 4-6 years related experience in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech manufacturing environment preferred
- Bachelor’s in related field required or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload
- Strong attention to detail and consistent, effective follow-up skills on multiple projects
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work with all levels of employees and manage vendor relations
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, SAP
- Use of TrackWise and EDMS preferred
- Organized, motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented

Pay and Benefits
The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $71,000 to $79,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. The position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
