Procurement/Buyer
Responsibilities
The purchase of items, materials, and services of varying degrees of complexity
Draft purchase orders and document supplier selection
Perform price analysis consistent with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) requirements
Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQs), detailing specific program requirements
Evaluate responses for compliance with RFQ requirements
Ensure that file documentation is accurate and complete according to Northstrat procurement policies and procedures as well as applicable FAR and DFARS regulations
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in purchasing within government contracting
Knowledge of procurement practices and review of procurement documentation in compliance with applicable FAR and DFARS regulations
Skilled in negotiating purchase orders to achieve favorable terms and pricing
Experience with pricing and negotiation of commercial and government contractual documents and US government procurement regulations, including FAR and DFARS
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
- Strong understanding and application of FAR and DFARSM
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Problem-solving and time-management skills
Skills

Experience with an accounting/purchasing system such as Deltek or Unanet

Pay
Pay Range
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
Schedule
Flex Time
Northstrat does not mandate specific working hours. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month.
