Buyer - Plant Hatch

About the role

This position is responsible for procurement activities supporting category management strategies and business partner requirements. The role will be located at Plant Hatch in Baxley, GA, and will require onsite support four (4) days a week. The successful candidate will provide procurement support for Plant Hatch. There is no relocation assistance available.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with inventory specialists, site supply chain manager, engineering, category manager, contract agents and business partners to best accommodate their supply chain requirements
• Develop and evaluate proposals for materials and off-site services to determine best purchase alternative
• Issue orders for purchase of goods and off-site services
• Resolve conflicts or discrepancies involving pricing, invoicing, and materials
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Locate sources of supply, issue requests for quotes, conduct bidder meetings, analyze bids, create purchase orders (service and material), negotiate, expedite, resolve supplier problems, and perform other supply chain duties as required

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred
• Supply Chain certifications a plus

Experience

• Experience in procurement of materials and off-site services preferred
• MAXIMO experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of purchasing and supply chain practices and standards
• Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code
• Strong knowledge of generation, nuclear procedures, warehouse equipment and material desired
• Strong knowledge of the Maximo Purchasing System
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power BI and databases
• Strong analytical skills, communication skills and negotiating skills
• Ability to interact with business unit personnel and suppliers
• Ability to handle multiple transactions while under time constraints
• Strict adherence to Procurement Procedures and documentation requirements
• General knowledge of business practices associated with procurement, such as traffic/logistics, material contracts, engineering, risk management, accounting and legal
