Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join their Purchasing Department team. You will keep the supply chain moving—ensuring material availability never becomes the reason a customer order misses. Ideal candidates have experience in material planning, inventory control, or production planning and use a proactive, data-driven approach to balance cost with service efficiency. Responsibilities
- Build material plans aligned to demand variability based on historical usage, forecasts, and trends
- Anticipate demand shifts and adjust plans accordingly through collaboration with internal teams
- Maintain optimal inventory levels across 8,000+ active SKUs
- Manage safety stock and re-order points using ERP/MRP systems for material replenishment
- Communicate with suppliers about material requirements, delivery schedules, and changes
- Align production schedules, material availability, and customer delivery commitments
- Support kitting, staging, and replenishment for engineered assemblies and configured products
- Manage accurate planning parameters in ERP systems
- Participate in SIOP meetings; contribute to scenario planning and cross-functional alignment
- Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, inventory health, and ERP system utilization
- Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Engineering on priorities and timelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Engineering, or related field required
- 3+ years material planning, inventory control, or production planning experience required
- CPIM certification or willingness to obtain within first year of employment required
- MRP/ERP system experience required
- Excel and data analysis tools experience required
Pay
$70,000 - $80,000 DOE + corporate incentive bonus
