About the role
The Buyer/Planner will work within the Wolfspeed Supply Chain Procurement team and will be responsible for the purchasing and planning of materials. The role will be responsible for executing purchase orders, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers on delivery and lead times, and ensuring uninterrupted material supply to support production.
Responsibilities
- Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production demand
- Collaborate with planning and category management teams to align material requirements with supplier commitments
- Communicate daily with suppliers regarding open orders, shortages, delivery schedules, and escalations
- Analyze MRP/ERP system signals to drive purchasing decisions and replenishment actions
- Support the introduction of new parts or processes to aid in the timely processing of semiconductor wafers
- Identify and communicate cost savings opportunities and process improvement ideas
Requirements
- BS in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 3 years' experience in a buying, planning, or procurement role
- Experience with direct materials purchasing
- Demonstrated experience working in a self-directed, fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Energetic individual who can support a dynamic and exciting manufacturing and product line
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Responsive with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage supplier relationships on a day-to-day basis and resolve supply issues effectively
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a Buyer/Planner role, ideally in the semiconductor industry
- Working knowledge of Oracle or SAP (MRP/ERP systems) strongly desirable
- Capable of working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment
- Certification as a supply chain professional (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) or Quality (Six Sigma) preferred
