Buyer/Inventory Planner

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement and planning activities, including material ordering, supplier scheduling, purchase order administration, delivery tracking, invoice reconciliation, and compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and legal requirements.
- Develop and execute inventory and replenishment strategies to ensure material availability, maintain optimal inventory levels, support production and customer demand, and minimize stock-outs, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance in quality, delivery, lead time, sustainability, and cost, and proactively resolve supply, quality, non-conformance, and claims issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and business stakeholders to align forecasts and S&OP plans, support engineering change implementation, manage inventory reconciliation and obsolescence reviews, and drive continuous improvement in supply chain performance.
- Purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms, ensuring purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
- Identify new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years OR Associate’s degree with 4+ years of supply chain, planning, purchasing, or related experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Advanced Excel).
- Proficiency in SAP and Power BI supporting engineering change implementation and material planning processes (preferred).
- Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, demand planning, and procurement best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and independent decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues and drive effective solutions.
- Customer-focused professional with a proactive mindset, sense of urgency, leadership initiative, and experience applying root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
