Buyer III - TFO

About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves developing strategic procurement solutions and completing day-to-day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure program propellant requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet Blue Origin’s needs.
• Competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote, perform cost analysis in support of proposals for propellant or similar commodity requirements, and develop negotiation strategies.
• Construct various contracting types for major propellant activities, schedule to meet program and business needs, including long-range procurement agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and enhanced efficiencies.
• Lead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements (e.g., Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)).
• Support the procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved, delivering production materials on time, within budget, and meeting technical performance requirements.
• Influence, facilitate, organize, present, communicate, develop processes, analyze, and solve problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with minimum 7 years of experience or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience interpreting and applying company policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations, such as FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
• Background and purchasing and negotiations of Bulk and Micro Bulk Propellants and Packaged Gases.
• Strong Supplier Management and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) maintenance.
• Strong analytical skills, data-driven, with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
• Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and monitor delivery schedules.
• Top-notch people and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Propellant Market or similar commodity spot, micro, and bulk buys.
• Knowledge in initiating, reviewing, and negotiating Riders, Leases, Rental Agreements, and Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Production Service Agreements (PSA).
• An eagerness to identify opportunities, find solutions, execute plans, and evaluate results critically and expeditiously.
• Adept at working with different systems and making recommendations on improvements for both systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
• Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance and/or Special Access.
