About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. The role involves developing strategic procurement solutions and completing day-to-day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure program propellant requirements are appropriately prioritized and executed to meet the needs of Blue Origin.
- Be competent in Blue Origin Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote, perform cost analysis in support of proposals for propellant or similar commodity requirements, and develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations.
- Construct various contracting types for major propellant activities/scheduling to meet the requirements of the programs and needs of the business, including long-range procurement agreements, sourcing partnerships, continuous improvement initiatives, and identification of opportunities for enhanced efficiencies.
- Own the procurement and scheduling process from requisition creation, management of propellant scheduling efforts through the life of the PO to final payment of invoices and resolve issues within this process.
- Lead the identification, implementation, negotiation, execution, and management of strategic agreements (i.e., Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)) where mutually beneficial.
- Support the overall procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure corporate strategic objectives are achieved, including delivery of production materials that are on time, within budget, and meet technical performance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 7 years of experience or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related specialty to supply chain management.
- Interpret and apply company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards, and U.S. government regulations, such as FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
- Maintain compliant and accurate files and data records.
- Background and purchasing and negotiations of Bulk and Micro Bulk Propellants and Packaged Gases.
- Strong Supplier Management and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) maintenance.
- Strong analytical skills, data-driven with experience in establishing and tracking program metrics.
- Create and maintain systems and processes to streamline operations and monitor delivery schedules.
- Must have top-notch people and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Propellant Market or similar commodity spot, micro, and bulk buys.
- Knowledge in initiating, reviewing, and negotiating Riders, Leases, Rental Agreements, and Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Production Service Agreements (PSA).

Qualifications
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Current active DOD Secret Security Clearance and/or Special Access.
