About the role
The Buyer II – Stores plays a crucial role in purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies to meet inventory requirements, cost objectives, and on-time delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensures adherence to company standard procedures in purchasing material and services.
- Analyzes demand patterns, sales trends, and inventory levels to effectively replenish stock and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Manages inventory across locations through transfers, rebalancing, and resolving shortages impacting customer orders.
- Maintains current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages.
- Updates and maintains inventory maintenance within the software system to support decision-making.
- Prioritizes urgent needs and resolves product availability issues with store teams, customer service, and operations.
- Addresses supplier quality issues, monitors vendor performance metrics, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and strengthen supplier relationships.
- Supports high-impact or critical items by expediting orders, identifying alternate sourcing, and ensuring rapid resolution of supply disruptions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences.
- 2-4 years of experience as a buyer/purchasing.
- Advanced user of Excel Pivot Tables, Microsoft Suite.
- Experience working in MRP, ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to respond with urgency to resolve supply issues and support internal stakeholders.
- Travel to stores for inventory management – 2-3 times per year, with potential for more.

Pay
The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $25.72 - $42.44 an hour in MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
