Buyer II or Senior Buyer

About the role

The City of Plano is seeking a procurement professional who may be hired as either a Buyer II or Senior Buyer, depending on qualifications and experience. This role is part of an award-winning Purchasing team committed to expertise, leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
• Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers
• Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures
• Procure goods, services, and supplies for the city
• Ensure compliance with procurement laws and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in procurement or related field
• Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with contract management systems

Pay

The hourly range for the Buyer II is $27.80 - $41.69 per hour
The hourly range for the Senior Buyer is $30.65 - $45.97 per hour
