Buyer II
Job Summary
A Buyer II purchases commonly used commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) materials, supplies, equipment, and services. Duties include performing cradle to grave procurement, soliciting bids, analyzing quotations, selecting or recommending suppliers, expediting delivery, interviewing prospective vendors, and establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
Requirements
- Educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred, or equivalent combination of formal training and three or more years' experience
- Technical qualifications: Knowledge of common business, industrial, and trade practices, commercial supply sources, government purchasing systems, Microsoft Office tools, and understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Experience: Three or more years' experience in purchasing, including interacting professionally with suppliers, managing budgets, and negotiating contracts
- Skills: Ability to interact professionally with suppliers, manage relationships, and leverage bid solicitations for cost savings
- Qualifications: Familiarity with government purchasing systems, Microsoft Office tools, databases, email, and the Internet; effective verbal and written communication skills; planning and organizational skills; Department of Defense (DoD) experience is a plus
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $73,257.60 to $76,960.00 annually. JT4 considers factors such as responsibilities, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, and market/business considerations when extending an offer.

Working Conditions
Work is primarily sedentary in an office environment. Some walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, stretching, and lifting (up to 25 pounds) is required for such purposes as filing and gathering supplies. Frequent use of a computer is required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
