About the role
The Buyer II position at Jered, a PAR Systems Company, is crucial for sourcing and procuring materials and services that support the production of highly engineered systems for the U.S. Navy and global maritime partners. This role involves sourcing materials, obtaining competitive quotes, negotiating pricing and lead times, managing supplier relationships, and supporting subcontract procurement activities.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing materials and identifying alternative suppliers
- Negotiating pricing and lead times
- Managing supplier relationships
- Supporting subcontract procurement activities
- Interpreting engineering documentation
- Managing competing priorities
- Adapting to changing project demands
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 2-4 years of purchasing or procurement experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
- Experience working within an ERP system
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, simple blueprints, and bills of material
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, cost analysis, and delivery scheduling
