Buyer I (Entry-Level)

Responsibilities

As a Level-1 Buyer, you will mostly work on the pre-purchase administrative activities of procurement. Key responsibilities include:

• Screen Purchase Requisitions (PR) from programs and award low dollar orders
• Work with end-users to resolve any discrepancies in the PRs received from programs
• Act as a sponsor for on-boarding new suppliers
• Conduct Denied Party screenings/reviews, track annual re-certifications and insurance certificates
• Act as Expediters to track critical shipments
• Generate & maintain reports by following the instructions of team leads
• Responsible for all documentation associated with a purchase as required by government and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
• May be required to travel on Temporary Assignments to Programs both CONUS/OCONUS in support of program and mission requirements

Requirements

• BS/BA Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained (One year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required)
• 0-2 years of professional experience
• Customer service oriented, detail focused, with proactive behavior and multi-tasking capability
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Sales and data analytics experience a plus

Skills

• Good problem solving, negotiation, and organizational skills/techniques
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
• Familiarity with software such as CLM, Infinium, On-Base, Maximo, STARS (potentially), and SharePoint

Technology

• Company-issued computer, printer, copy machine, and other general office equipment

Pay

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay compensation and may be modified at the discretion of the company.

USD $50,000 - 90,000

Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
