Buyer I

Responsibilities

• Performs purchasing activities according to Supply Chain Management policies and procedures.
• Ensures appropriate documentation is secured for payment of contracted labor and services.
• Develops requests for proposals.
• Implements contracts and purchase orders, including managing change orders.
• Verifies invoices against commercial contracts for contracted labor and services.
• Negotiates with vendors to expedite manufacturing and delivery of materials and services.
• Compiles, calculates, and interprets data using various computer systems.
• Supports client work activities and priorities.
• Maintains and files source documents related to purchases.
• Solves material quality issues.
• Processes supplier prequalification documentation.
• Aids in the development of contracts and master service agreements with the Category Manager and Buyer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Prioritization of a degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• 1-3 years of purchasing experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Ability to negotiate effectively.
