About the role
Vermeer is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support sourcing needs by analyzing and monitoring daily material requirement planning (MRP) and other replenishment systems. In this role, you will partner with production control to meet production schedules, minimize costs, and reduce lead times while upholding consistency, fostering consensus, and preserving Vermeer’s intellectual property rights through the procurement process.
Responsibilities
- Analyze MRP or availability reports, review demand requirements, and order and schedule component parts per location and product lines.
- Maintain late purchase order reports and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Work to meet production schedules, reduce lead times, and increase inventory turns.
- Respond to production schedule changes by tracking purchased parts, suggesting schedule adjustments, and communicating delivery gaps.
- Manage multiple projects with engineering teams, providing technical input on component design, material selection, and cost improvements.
- Process engineering change notices for new product and process development requirements.
- Review key metrics and take action to meet inventory, cost, invoice accuracy, payment terms, delivery, and quality goals.
- Respond to customer service requests regarding pricing and availability, and collaborate with warehouse or inventory teams to review stocking levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, or engineering (mechanical or electrical), or Associate’s degree with two years of related experience.
- Ability to communicate professionally with vendors to negotiate pricing and set performance standards (e.g., on-time delivery, cost reduction, lead time).
- Experience leading cross-functional cost-savings teams (e.g., engineering, procurement, marketing, dealer network) to reach consensus.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, respond to inquiries with innovative solutions, and influence or coach others.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, using engineering software, public speaking, and managing multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, lean manufacturing, warehouse inventory, contracts, pricing, purchase orders, blanket orders, and sales/marketing data.

First shift (Work Shift 1).
Work Location
Onsite: Day-to-day work is best completed at a Vermeer campus, though occasional offsite work may be arranged with your manager.
Occasional travel is expected for this position.
