About the role
Reports to the Manager/Supervisor of Procurement. This position prepares, interprets, and manages purchases and places orders according to procedural guidelines, department expectations, and institutional time frames. Resolves problems between external vendors and internal customers.
Creates, leads, and participates in departmental and cross-functional process improvement projects, including training new requisitioners. Work is dependent upon or facilitated by the use of computers and computer software programs.
Responsibilities
- Handle routine customer service complaints and comments with minimal business impact, without authority to resolve significant matters.
- Purchase, buy, procure, or manage inventory, materials, or supplies to meet department expectations and timelines.
- Provide expert advice on accounting, pricing, selection or termination of contractors/vendors, following established manuals, guidelines, policies, or procedures.
- Enter information into databases, formulate or enter queries, or run reports from a database.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of applicable experience required.
