Buyer

Position Summary

The Buyer plays a key role within MultiCare’s supply chain, responsible for the procurement of materials and services across commodity groups. This dynamic position will offer you the ability to research, source, manage relationships and help define product standards. A team environment will support you to work collaboratively toward business facilitation and problem resolutions.

Responsibilities

• Purchase standardized supplies and parts at the lowest possible cost consistent with accepted standards of quality and service
• Work in conjunction with departments to standardize product supplies, develop adequate stocking levels and manage consignment product lines in a fiscally responsible manner
• Analyze trends in product supply requests to determine appropriate stocking location and facilitate changes as applicable
• Assist in the negotiation with suppliers to obtain the most suitable materials at the lowest net cost

Requirements

• Associate degree in business or related field preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in supply chain purchasing and customer service
