Buyer
Position Summary
As our Buyer, you'll be at the center of a fast-paced global operation, building strategic supplier partnerships, ensuring material availability, and driving solutions that directly impact customer success. This is more than a purchasing role; it's an opportunity to influence business performance, support cutting-edge technologies, and help deliver mission-critical interconnect solutions to customers around the world. In this role, you'll partner closely with suppliers, production planning, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain while balancing quality, inventory, delivery, and cost objectives. Buyer level (Buyer I or Buyer II) will be determined based on experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated procurement proficiency.
What You'll Do
- Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery to ensure uninterrupted production and customer fulfillment
- Source electronic components, cable and wire products, connectors, harness materials, mechanical components, and other manufacturing-related commodities
- Analyze material requirements and convert MRP recommendations into effective purchasing strategies
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements to achieve cost and service objectives
- Support new product introductions and customer-specific programs through strategic sourcing and supplier engagement
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement
- Identify and qualify alternative sources to strengthen supply continuity and support business growth
- Manage material shortages and expedite critical orders to maintain production schedules
- Partner with planning and operations teams to optimize inventory levels while supporting customer demand
- Monitor market trends, lead times, and supply chain risks that may impact material availability
- Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and customer support teams to ensure seamless execution of customer programs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply chain efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence
- Contribute to strategic sourcing efforts and process improvements that strengthen organizational performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred
- 3 to 7+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience sourcing and purchasing electronic components, wire and cable products, connectors, custom assemblies, engineered products, or similar commodities
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements
- Strong understanding of supply chain planning, inventory management, and supplier performance metrics
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications
