About the Role
This person is responsible for managing components and supplies to assure that daily production schedules are maintained. The role involves using SAP and other resources to track requirements and work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of components. The individual has the freedom to make decisions, and job performance is critical to the day-to-day operation of the plant.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing, materials requirements planning, and supplier relationship management.
- Develop and execute material strategies that meet customer requirements, company targets, and create stability across the supply chain.
- Maintain inventory levels for productive material consistent with production schedules and management directives.
- Work with Corporate Purchasing, maximizing SAP to support customers, suppliers, and inter-company transfer of parts.
- Analyze all purchased item requirements from MRP, which defines all current and future demand.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and maintain constant communication with them.
- Prepare material requisitions and orders using approved suppliers regarding specifications, quantities, pricing, due dates, and shipping information as part of daily standard work.
- Work with appropriate parties to resolve issues in order scheduling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement (MP&L).
- Experience in Materials Management, Business, or Accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and good computer skills.
- Experience working with MRP.
- Experience with SAP is beneficial.
