Responsibilities

• Ensure timely purchasing within limited authority and approval levels
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions
• Conduct price and vendor quote analysis to identify new opportunities and complete initial research of vendors
• Represent Michels Corporation in negotiating contracts, terms, and formulating policies with suppliers
• Secure price advantages of quantity buying
• Compose bid quotations
• Analyze quotes received
• Outline performance standards, tolerances, terms, and warranties
• Execute contracts up to limits identified by Supply Chain management
• Maintain current and accurate database information: lead times, open purchase orders, quality, and commitments
• Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and organizations
• Interface with other divisions and departments to support order processing, shipping, delivery, and quality
• Create recommendations on the best vendor of materials and services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Computer proficiency
• Proficiency with using eProcurement or eSourcing tools (desired)
• Relevant industry experience (desired)
• A valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record (desired)
