Procure goods, materials, and services to ensure the company’s operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality, delivery, and continuity of supply.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems; eliminate/mitigate risks which may impact production and business operations.
- Solicit formal and informal bids, prepare bid specifications, and coordinate the bid process, considering total cost of ownership (TCO) and leveraging volume/spend across all divisions.
- Minimize company exposure of excess and obsolete material; review and drive appropriate action to reduce inventory reserve amounts.
- Develop, audit, and maintain vendor performance records and make recommendations for corrective action where required.
- Manage the Non-Conforming Material and Warranty process to ensure claims are resolved within the allotted timeframe.
- Review and respond to annual NAFTA solicitations and/or Certificate of Origin (COO) requests with accurate part description, value, material, etc., to avoid penalties and delayed shipments.
- Compile data and submit monthly Purchasing scorecard performance.
- Maintain ERP supplier master database with accurate information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; CPM/CPIM/CPSCM certification preferred.
- IMDS, NAFTA, and Export Compliance experience a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office software, particularly Excel.
- Extensive experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle, JDE, SAP, or QAD.
- Ability to problem-solve, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Strong written communication skills for clear, concise, and effective correspondence.
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and complete multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
- High attention to detail and consistent accuracy.
- Track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Physical Demands
- Exposure to physical requirements such as standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Travel may be required.
- Exposure to extreme heat and cold while in the plant.
