About the role
Eaton’s Data Center division is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is hybrid with preference for this person to be in Raleigh NC or Woodridge, IL. Will consider remote within the US.
Responsibilities
- Monitor material requirements and supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery and continuity of supply.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Strategic Sourcing teams to manage supplier performance, lead times, pricing, and contract compliance.
- Actively participate in the SIOP process by reviewing demand changes, evaluating supply constraints, and supporting inventory and service-level targets.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Engineering, and Quality teams to align material availability with factory and customer requirements.
- Identify and resolve material shortages, delivery issues, and supplier risks through proactive communication and problem-solving.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by coordinating sourcing, supplier readiness, and phase-in/phase-out of materials.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier master data within the ERP system.
- Generate and analyze weekly and monthly reports related to supplier performance, inventory levels, and material shortages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of supply chain experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management
- ERP Experience, SAP and Kinaxis
- CPIM or other supply chain certification
- Experience in a supply chain buying, planning, or scheduling role
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts
Skills
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Knowledge of ERP requirements and customer order processing
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills
- Presentation of data effectively to support recommendations regarding production plan/master schedule
- Ability to adjust work priorities to meet continuously changing schedules
- Ability to set priorities and accomplish goals within time constraints
- Microsoft Office proficiency
Benefits
The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
