Blue Marble Communications designs and manufactures high-performance RF, free-space optical, and network communications modules and systems for deployment onboard satellites and other space vehicles. Our current product offerings include software-defined RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave modem/transceivers; optical laser communications terminals, Ethernet routers/switches, and systems comprised of combinations of these modules. Responsibilities
- Maintain ownership of all open PO data in the ERP system, follow up on vendor emails, and expedite with vendors to ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve any quality issues related to purchased materials
- Manage purchase order lifecycle from Request For Quote to PO fulfillment and acceptance for all purchase orders including large Subcontract Purchase Orders
- Manage the PR workflow and purchasing backlog, regularly reassessing priority based on program demand, lead times, and business impact to ensure critical needs are purchased and expedited appropriately
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and favorable payment terms where appropriate
- Perform regular supplier performance evaluations to assess quality, on-time delivery, and overall performance
- Track GIDEP output and work with cross-functional teams to implement obsolescence and cut-over plans
- Generate weekly purchasing KPIs for management review
- Work closely with vendors to ensure compliance with specification documents, quality flow-downs, and company policies and procedures in all procurement activities
- Identify and develop strategic supplier relationships to drive cost savings and a competitive advantage
- Review performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives, streamline processes, and implement best practices in procurement
- Assist Operations and Administrative personnel where needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience required
- Experience with ERP, especially SAP B1, preferred but not required
- Experience in supply chain management involving printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and complex mechanical components is preferred
- Highly self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to self-manage workload
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent MS Office skills, primarily Excel
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with all levels of an organization
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills, to include confidential information
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Must be a US Person (This position has export control and security-related requirements that mandate attention to the citizenship status of any potential candidate and necessitates that the individual either be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident of the United States, or lawfully admitted into the United States as a refugee or granted asylum by the United States Government)
