Buyer Analyst

About the role
This position is responsible for independently negotiating and maintaining best pricing for new items and for recurring items within designated contracts. This role will provide technical review of parts and drawings, maintain a database for ongoing technical data updates from customers, and ensure a sufficient supplier base per item to meet contract specifications.
Responsibilities
- Cultivates relationships with tiered suppliers for the contract.
- Maintains effective annual cost and lead time for contract.
- Maintains at least three suppliers where possible based on contract quality requirements in EnterpriseOne system.
- Establishes tiered supplier database per item with current NSN pricing entered by price expiration dates.
- Manages NSN data through the Gateway system, EnterpriseOne Management tools, and other NSN supplier-based tools.
- Manages and troubleshoots FAT testing and other quality test procedures with suppliers for NSN-based contracts.
- Manages technical data pertaining to NSNs listed in the contract.
- Provides assistance to Buyer/Expeditor and suppliers regarding drawing and POT data requirements.
- Maintains day-to-day stock needs according to the customer contract.
- Works alongside Client Support Representatives (CSRs) on commercial CONUS & OCONUS RFQs for the TWV department.
- Oversees team resolution of contract non-conformance issues and works with the team to address non-conformances to resolution.
- Notifies appropriate CSR of any quality issues so appropriate action and resolution can be implemented.
- Initiates and maintains blanket purchase order agreements for contracts with suppliers based on negotiated results from supplier quotes.
- Coordinates with suppliers to confirm NSN pricing and lead time on a weekly basis and maintains each in EnterpriseOne database.
- Assists with special pricing projects such as market baskets for Business Development proposals.
- Creates and maintains work instructions and process maps for the Buyer Analyst role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a business or purchasing-related field.
- Five (5) years of purchasing experience, with emphasis in automotive purchasing preferred.
- Five (5) years' experience working within an automated procurement system.
- Two (2) years' experience working with government contracts preferred.

Work Environment
- This position is approved for some remote-based work. Must be able to work from home productively, independently, and unsupervised for much of the day.
- Must have an area of the home designated as a home office where work can be completed uninterrupted.
- Must have a stable internet connection available in the home to provide uninterrupted service.
- The position is required to be local to headquarters (Rockford, IL) as in-office work may be requested in a hybrid capacity.
