JOB DUTIES

• Requires experience buying small component parts, hard drives and cables.
• Needs familiarity with the standard distribution suppliers.
• MRP experience preferred.
• Knowledge of a PO system (no specific one required).
• Ensures timely order placement of product or service requirements from pre-selected sources of supply.
• Issues releases against pre-established blanket purchase orders.
• Provides follow-up information on delivery schedule status.
• Prepares and maintains reports and files.
• Provides general assistance to Buyers and Section Managers in routine purchasing activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of direct purchasing experience.
• Requires knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
• Word processing and spreadsheet skills highly desirable.
• Electronic component experience, preferred.

Skills

• Experience buying small component parts, hard drives and cables.
