About the role

The Buyer will support multiple Service Center locations, focusing on managing indirect spend, coordinating purchasing activities, and driving process and system improvements. This role offers exposure to procurement operations and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while monitoring performance and accountability.
• Support risk analysis and mitigation efforts with external suppliers.
• Analyze indirect spend for patterns and opportunities to drive improvement.
• Manage RFQs, issue purchase orders, and ensure timely material delivery through proactive follow-up.
• Contribute to procurement system enhancements, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improved workflows.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure indirect MRO items align with operational end-user needs.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, tracking results and driving supplier accountability.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies through root cause analysis and implement strategies to minimize errors.
• Collaborate with other ASSA ABLOY entities to streamline processes and reduce redundancy.
• Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
• Demonstrate strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing, buying, or procurement experience.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience is a plus.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or JD Edwards preferred).
• Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel).
• Proven ability to build strong internal and external partnerships.
• Self-starter with a track record of resourcefulness and initiative.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in cost analysis and executing strategic cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite or JD Edwards is preferred.
• Advanced MS Office skills, including proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.), are required.
• Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships and manage risk effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to execute cost-saving initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with various stakeholders.
