About the Role
The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation, and cost of operations must align with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.
Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Bristol for gaming entertainment. Responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and mentoring team members to provide superior guest service.
Responsibilities
- Greet each guest and provide outstanding customer service.
- Supply all food items needed to maintain an efficient operation.
- Prepare and upkeep food lines and self-service stations.
- Transport all food items from kitchen to respective areas.
- Inform chefs of prepared food items needed and assist in kitchen with preparation and dishwashing.
- Ensure an ample supply of dishes and utensils at all times.
- Monitor temperatures of all food items in holding units.
- Maintain the appearance of food throughout the day or event by adhering to sanitation codes, rotating food, and ensuring fresh presentation.
- Maintain all beverage areas with necessary beverages.
- Complete all set-up duties on time.
- Maintain overall cleanliness and appearance of assigned area and kitchen.
- Assist in the main kitchen with preparation of various dishes as required.
- Know daily food items being served and rotate/maintain inventory.
- Use proper transfer slips for all items moving to and from the kitchen.
- Load dinner plates, dessert plates, and bowls in designated areas.
- Put away and rotate all food storeroom orders and dry goods.
- Interact positively with guests to enhance guest relations.
- Bus tables at the end of guest meals and maintain 15-20 tables.
- Transport dish carts to and from service stations.
- Maintain cleanliness in server stations and dining room.
- Abide by all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Remove dirty dishes and glassware from guest tables during and after each course.
- Refill drinks as needed.
- Complete all opening and closing duties.
- Check and clean equipment regularly; adhere to preventative maintenance programs and report repairs.
- Work collaboratively with team members from all departments.
- Advise supervisor when supplies are needed or when guests require special accommodations.
- Check with supervisor before ending shift.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
- Ability to read and write English required.
- One-year guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment preferred.
- Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.
- Must have valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and Gaming Badge when working.
- Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery requirements.
- Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Good communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, including a positive, friendly, and outgoing attitude.
- Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
Skills
- Must be able to stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift.
- Must be able to withstand noisy and smoke-filled environments.
- Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with arms and hands.
- Must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Pay
Pay Range: $2 - $25 per hour.
