Busser/Barback
About the role
The Busser/Barback plays a vital role in keeping service running smoothly by assisting both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork to ensure a clean, organized, and fully stocked restaurant and bar. As a Busser/Barback at Nick's, you'll clear and reset tables, assist with food running, restock bar supplies, and support the service team to create an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly to ensure a quick turnaround for guests.
- Absorb food from the kitchen to tables, ensuring proper plate presentation.
- Support bartenders by restocking liquor, beer, mixers, and bar essentials.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area by wiping surfaces and replenishing napkins, condiments, and utensils.
- Absorb overall restaurant cleanliness, including floors, restrooms, and service stations.
- Work as part of a team-service approach, collaborating with colleagues to maintain a stress-free and engaging work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, embodying Nick's values of Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Accountability.
Requirements
A hard-working, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including trays, kegs, and bar supplies. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Standing and walking for extended periods (6-10 hours per shift), lifting and carrying trays, kegs, cases of beverages, and other supplies weighing up to 25 lbs, performing repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, lifting, and wiping surfaces, navigating a crowded bar and dining area while carrying trays or bar stock, working in a high-energy, team-oriented environment, often moving quickly between stations.
