Business Unit Controller
Responsibilities
- Drive and support executing day-to-day accounting team responsibilities, tasks, and project related efforts.
- Provide oversight and direction in the capital expenditure development and ROI including development of standard reports and projections related to Capex spend and depreciation projections.
- Provide oversight and direction in the Treasury area including reviews of weekly disbursement runs, wire payment releases, and monthly cash projection forecasts.
- Complete ownership of month end closing responsibilities.
- Cook up and coordinate monthly accruals, schedules and reporting, such as commission accruals, bad debt accruals, incentive/sales bonus accruals and rebate accruals.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy and integrity of general ledger data.
- Prepare monthly financial statements in a four-day close environment.
- Perform balance sheet reviews and review/approve monthly account reconciliations.
- Present financial results to management regarding company performance.
- Manage and coordinate execution of financial audits and support a robust controls environment.
- Interact with internal/external audit teams and participate in issue remediation efforts.
- Partner with finance and business leaders to provide accounting guidance and financial insights.
- Work with staff and other departments to continually identify improvements and efficiencies.
- Document policies and procedures; serve as a change agent for ERP implementation and continuous improvement.
- Manage staff including training, development, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
- Lead and participate in projects as directed by the VP of Finance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
- Capable of resolving escalated issues requiring cross-functional coordination.
