Business Technology Solutions Consultant - IT-OT Integration
About the role
The IT-OT Consultant Lead will lead Industry 4.0 transformation programs and IT-OT integration initiatives for ZS Supply Chain and Manufacturing clients. This includes serving as a subject matter expert on smart manufacturing, IT-OT system architectures, and implementation best practices based on industry standard frameworks such as IS88, ISA95 etc. in client discussions; designing and deploying scalable digital manufacturing platforms; managing multi-disciplinary teams and projects; and contributing to Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice development.
Responsibilities
- Lead Industry 4.0 transformation programs and IT-OT integration initiatives for ZS Supply Chain and Manufacturing clients.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on smart manufacturing, IT-OT system architectures, and implementation best practices based on industry standard frameworks such as IS88, ISA95 etc. in client discussions.
- Design and deploy scalable digital manufacturing platforms.
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams and projects.
- Contribute to Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice development.
- This role combines OT, smart manufacturing, and systems integration experience in a production / manufacturing environment.
- The ideal candidate should have 5-7+ years of experience across:
- Hands-on experience with smart manufacturing, IT-OT integration, and knowledge of OT systems (e.g., one or more of any of these – PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMIs etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., one or more of any of these - OPC-UA, ModBus, MQTT, REST-APIs etc.) with understanding of real-time data exchange across shop floor systems.
- Experience in architecting hardware/software infrastructure to enable manufacturing intelligence solutions, including integration of OT data with one or more of any of these – MES, Historians (one or more of any of these - OSISoft PI, Ignition, Aveva, Kepware etc.), ERP, LIMS, QMS etc.
- Experience in designing and deploying scalable Industrial Data Operations capabilities and Unified Name Space (UNS) compliant architecture for data contextualization, meta data management and creation of semantic data layers to enable use cases/applications.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing process knowledge (discrete and continuous), including lean principles, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), downtime analysis, root cause analysis on live production lines for quality events etc.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to create digital transformation roadmaps to achieve Industry 4.0 / 5.0 vision for smart manufacturing / factory of the future, prioritizing high-ROI use cases, conducting Proof of Concepts/Proof of Value and scale for operationalization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Electronics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Exposure to manufacturing and quality advanced analytics use cases (e.g., golden batch, advanced process control, digital twins, batch release, deviation monitoring etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Any knowledge of agentic AI use cases for manufacturing and quality would be a bonus, and Lean / Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt) preferred; formal certification is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with IIoT/IoT platforms (e.g., one or more of any of these - Tulip, Highbyte, Cognite, ThingWorx, Ignition, AVEVA etc.) and cloud/on-prem data storage (e.g., one or more of any of these – AWS or Azure or Google Cloud Platform), or Knowledge/experience of industrial cybersecurity (e.g., one or more of any of these - CFR Part 11 compliance, IEC62443 security protocols, SOC 2 IS compliance etc.) is a nice-to-have.
- Strong client-facing skills, with experience supporting pre-sales / business development (e.g., demos, solutioning discussions, proposal creations, experience in RFP responses etc.).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to understand client business needs and translate them to technical and business requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in change management and stakeholder onboarding, from shop floor users to senior leadership, to support adoption of new digital and OT/IT capabilities.

Schedule
We offer a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work. Business needs and client requirements will determine the frequency and duration of travel.
