About the role
Louis L. Redding Middle School seeks a Licensed Teacher to plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students under the direction of the Building Principal.
Responsibilities
- Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students.
- Maintains accurate records and follows required procedures and practices.
- Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
- Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintains a safe and encouraging learning environment to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport and communication with students, school personnel, and parents.
- Establishes classroom routines and procedures and implements effective classroom management.
- Works closely with guidance/special education personnel/outside resources to assist students with special needs.
- Integrates technology appropriately to enhance student learning and instructional delivery.
- Remains current and knowledgeable about evidence-based practices related to teaching and learning through the active pursuit of professional development activities.
- Participates in district and school level committees designed to foster continuing improvement and growth.
- Communicates curriculum and student-related information effectively in oral and written form.
- Participates in all meetings (IEP, conferences, etc.).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Hold or eligible for State of Delaware teacher certification in the identified content area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching.
- Skilled in the use of multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.
- Established and maintains effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills.
Qualifications
- Physical Requirements: Regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Physical and Environmental Conditions: Work is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move around the school and classroom.
