About The Role

Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and more – all with the goal of opening access to space. The rockets and satellites we build and launch enable some of the most ambitious and vital space missions globally, supporting scientific exploration, Earth observation and missions to combat climate change, national security, and exciting new technology demonstrations.

The Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up assembly kits that enable our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together and are critical to our success.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS ENGINEER II

• Conduct in-depth analyses using SQL, R, Power BI, Python, and other tools to assess risk, gather intelligence, and formulate actionable plans.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven tools and systems to support supply chain operations, including intelligent agents and bots that act as "wingmen" for supply chain professionals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration, automation, and process optimization across the supply chain.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models to enhance forecasting, inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
• Proactively assess and develop opportunities for efficiencies and automation, including the use of AI to reduce manual tasks.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures and documentation for AI-enabled tools and systems.
• Provide training and support to the broader team on new AI tools, reports, and processes.
• Identify and propose cost reduction opportunities across various products and services, leveraging AI to uncover hidden efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience within a supply chain environment and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience (HS Diploma and 6+ years of total work experience).
• Experience with at least one of the following: SQL, R, Python, or Power BI.
• Proficient using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
• Exposure to ERP systems.
